Christopher A Rose AIA, ASID It is bluestone. Some of the bluestone is more brown and some more bluish slate color. Most exterior stone suppliers have samples for you to view. This is thermal finish which is slip resistant since it is at the entry.

I like the idea of the formal dining space being off to the side, in it's own space, but still open. I also like the cut outs in the back wall. I would also want some wall space for a china cabinet or a hutch of some sort.
