Richard Bubnowski Design LLC I am not sure about the actual final finish specification on this particular piece since we designed the cabinetry but did not manufacture it. However on most of the furniture that we design and manufacture ourselves we specify a clear Duravar finish. It is a a catalyzed varnish and should not darken your material, but only enhance and protect the wood. On this piece we specified a white- wash stain on reclaimed oak and my guess is that the final finish is probably Duravar or similar.

Richard Bubnowski Design LLC Poplar has a very different grain structure. While it is very white, it's a very different look. We used oak. It then got a white wash stain and eventually finished with a clear Duravar finish.

While Bubnowski planned out where the appliances would go, he credits the interior designer he collaborated with, Donna Grimes, with the ingenious composition of these cabinets and shelves. They are made from whitewashed local reclaimed wood.
