allisonconnell We purchased lights that look just like these from Restoration Hardware. We bought them two years ago, but I think they still carry this style.
Above the sink is a view to the cove. The lower half of the room has a bit of a farmhouse feel, with the whitewashed reclaimed wood cabinets, slate floor, mahogany counters and farm sink.
The counter serves as a bit of a dividing line in this country/industrial space: Right above it are more contemporary opaque glass tiles, white wood and industrial pendant lights. It's the perfect example of the son's wish fulfilled: old, new and industrial elements forming a cohesive space.
Raise your hand if you are embarrassed to admit you still have the builder default "boob light" hanging from your ceiling. It's okay — swapping out lighting fixtures is easier than you think. Just know where the circuit breaker is located in your home before you touch anything and make sure the electricity is off. You will be so happy to gaze upon your new contemporary light fixture that you installed yourself.
