This house was designed so that it would not "overload" the lot with more facade than the lot could withstand. The scale is much better when that can be achieved. In order to accomodate the 4425SF with 5 bedrooms and 5.5 baths and 1850SF of unfinished daylight basement, I pushed out the back and captured second story space in the half story of the roof.

Pamela Foster & Associates, Inc. I thought I had posted an answer, but I guess it didn't post. This house is 4425SF; I pushed out the back so it would feel like a treehouse, and it does! The single door to the right of the garage doors is a combo laundry/caterer's kitchen and includes a toilet to keep workmen/others from going through the house with dirt to the powder room.
It does not have a formal living room, which I do not believe in any longer; wasted space to heat/cool and no one every goes there. The front room with copper dormer roofs is a formal dining room (lots of entertaining with great flow (4) wide doorways from the dining room to great room, and one regular door to the caterer's kitchen.
The great room is 36X36, which includes a large breakfast area and the formal kitchen. During parties, the formal kitchen is used for gathering (aren't all kitchens used for that now?), and the work.and clean-up can be contained in the caterer's kitchen. The great room is all glass on the rear with casement windows and a 4' french door to a covered deck which has a gas grill, and an adjacent open deck.
The master is on the left behind the garage with a large walk in closet, a great bath, and lots of windows to see out of the treehouse!. It also has two doors that open to the covered deck. Magnificent during a rain when the creek is running strong. The master is 16X24 and has a fireplace.
There are three secondary bedrooms in the wing to the right of the front door and upstairs houses another den, bedroom, large closet, and private bath.
There is also an 1850SF unfinished basement.
Since design/build is my profession, I do not give away blue prints, but would be happy to sell them to you. Let me know if you are interested.
Gorgeous home. - I was just wondering if you painted the windows, or did you use one of the manufacturers colors? Please let me know the color if you would not mind. Thank you for such a beautiful inspiring design. »
Pamela Foster & Associates, Inc. If you click on the photo to make it larger, underneath it on the right there is a symbol for a printer. Click on that and you can print the photo. Good luck.
hiensch Thanks for replying! I am considering buying Jeld-Wen premium aluminum clad for my house. Would you generally recommend these? It's a big investment for us... What color do you have there?
Pamela Foster & Associates, Inc. I may be able to find one or two. It is up on stilts (steel) because I wanted the back of it to be like a treehouse. I know I have some photos of the rear covered and open deck that are not on Houzz. I will find them and upload.
Pamela Foster & Associates, Inc. If you want to e-mail me directly at designbuild@comcast.net, I can send you a pdf file of the drawings for the rear of this house.
Pamela Foster & Associates, Inc. 4500SF living space, not counting garage. 1850 SF unfinished basement. This house pushes back a good ways. 5 bdrms, 5.5 baths; no formal living room. I stopped designing them long ago; they are wasted space, in my opinion. DR is 16' X 18'; great room, including breakfast area and "formal" kitchen is 36' X 36'. There is also a caterer's kitchen, of which I haven't uploaded a photo yet; it is off of the "formal" kitchen; great for parties. Happy to answer any other questions you may have. My goal is always to design the house so it doesn't overpower the lot.
