Robert Cain: photo
I maintain a stock of found, salvaged or aesthetically pleasing materials in my shop and from time to time combine them in various configurations to create functional objects. This elegant lamp is comprised of: a repurposed aluminum wok top, hardware store aluminum tubing and a cast iron drains cover . The light source: 3 dimmable Phillips LED bulbs. The wok top shade has a perforated pattern that in a darkened room will create a subtle pattern on walls and ceiling. The aluminum tube is unfinished.

This carefully selected assemblage is more than satisfying. It's functional as a reading, desk or table lamp and beautiful. The wok top curve is echoed in the bowled rise of the drain cover and the overall visual effect is clean, direct, simple and modern.

Height: 25.5", shade diameter: 13.5", weight: 4.8 lbs.
