Adding onto an existing house, the Owners wanted to push the house more modern. The new "boxes" were clad in compatible material, with accents of concrete block and mahogany. Corner windows open the views.

I'm looking for a good source to purchase mahogany siding, any suggestions? »
Randall Mars Architects We get the mahogany at the local building supply company TW Perry. I am pretty sure Home Depot does NOT carry it, but most professional building supply stores should. Ask for Cambera Mahogany.
what kind of wood is that on the addition? - We are also doing an addition, wanting to add some modern flair to a cape cod remodel. It still has somewhat of a traditional look but how could we use different materials/colors to get a more modern feel? »
Randall Mars Architects materials do make a big difference. Larger windows add better light and modernize an older style. Also, don't put too many moldings like column caps and bases - that is really not consistent with Arts and Crafts. Use a simple tall base to the columns. If you haven't yet built, its not too late to get help!
mpmesser We are quite a distance away from you and they have begun to pour foundation this week. I will definitely be looking to your work for inspiration. Are they any books you might recommend that may be helpful?
