When adding a color like this blue to a ceiling, should you have it mixed more than 25% formula if the walls are a linen white? (I can barely see the blue, however, the white beams aren't up yet, so no contrast yet) »
Anne DeCocco It completely depends on how much blue you want to see. It's possible to go too light--I've done that myself. If you're taking the trouble to put blue up there, it should be visible! Colors like Ben Moore's Celestia Blue/1429 or Misty Blue/820 look soft and lovely on a flat ceiling, but with a coffered ceiling, you can be braver and go down a shade on the color strip. The beams break up the color a great deal.
Anne DeCocco This soft, watery blue looks like Ben Moore's Summer Shower/2135-60. I know it looks more gray on the chip, but on the wall it's this kind of grown-up blue.

wall color and it made us wonder if the coffered ceiling should be painted the same as the wall. We will have coffered ceilings as well split into 9 boxes
