Farinelli Construction Inc Hello! We recommend a marine grade or quick drying epoxy to fill holes in character wood. Random placement of knots creates a more rustic, natural look. Pegs can also give a floor added definition and aesthetic, in addition to the graining and knots
Farinelli Construction Inc It's not an oak floor... it is character grade walnut, which means there are knots and mineral streaks. Your oak floor could be re-sanded and stained a similar color to match, but the wood will have a different pattern. A good flooring mechanic should be able to come up with some color match ideas on-site for you. Good luck!
Farinelli Construction Inc Hello. They are 3/4" walnut, no sapwood, un-steamed, square pegs, glazed to accent knots etc, sanded, installed, and finished with 4 coats of Tung Oil (the material came from Rehmyer wood floors, they were finished onsite)
Farinelli Construction Inc Thank you! The door its self is from Heister House Millwork in Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA. The stain glass above it was made by Cumberland Stained Glass, also in PA.
Joann Haynes I'm trying to frame and entrance way to my living room. Do you think using the wainscotting is better. or should I actually make a box frame to case it? Any ideas????
