Farinelli Construction Inc A lot depends on the type of floor that you have, and the pegs. In most cases the pegs are either a different species of wood, or they are oriented as end grain. In either case, the pegs should be naturally darker when finished. Without knowing for sure what you have... as long as you know for sure you are re-sanding your floors... test a small area by sanding and top-coating with the stain/finish of your choice. This will give you an idea of what the pegs will end up looking like. Your re-finisher, would typically help you select the color and finish by by doing the same thing prior to starting the job. Good luck!

Farinelli Construction Inc This is natural wood. Walnut is a bit softer than an oak floor, but not as soft as pine or cherry. Because we installed a distressed, character grade wood, most imperfections will fit right in. With the tung oil finish it is also easy to touch-up.
