safbham I have seen and held a sample of wainscotting wallpaper....take into consideration that it can dent...in which case, unlike wood, it would be impossible to repair without re-papering...but such a dent may not even be noticed.
It could be used if you don't want to spend too much...and the nice aspect is, if your taste changes, you simply remove it as you would any wallpaper.

safbham p.s. I prefer real wainscotting myself, but it does require removal of trim to apply.
