  • Saigon based art photographer Richard Mark Dobson invites you to view his collection of Hill Tribe Vivariums.
  • Vietnam is imbued with a myriad number of ethnic peoples, montagnards or mountain people as they are called by the French.
  • Known for their intricately patterned costumes, diverse customs, beliefs and religions and their deep bond with
  • The forests, mountains, valleys flora and fauna of Vietnam, they are an enigmatic & important part of the cultural legacy
  • Of the country.
  • Inspired by the beauty of plant Vivariums (flora in a bottle) Dobson set about to create something of lasting charm with a
hill tribe theme. He purposefully travelled to Vietnam’s wild and rugged North East and North West regions to photographed the Tay, Hmong, Phu La, and Dzao people.
  • From the photographs of the people he met he then created cut out figurines and placed them in the miniature garden landscapes in glass flasks.
  • They make compelling decoration for restaurants, home and the corporate office.
Each poster begins as a high quality Lambda Chromogenic print, that is sealed under a high gloss lacquer which both enhances the colour and vibrance of the original print and protects it from dust and scratches. The Vietnamese excel at lacquer and all our posters laminated locally benefit from this expertise.
  • (We also offer unlaminated prints upon client request or in some cases to reduce freight costs).
  • The posters for convenience are created in A2 & A1 sizes but can upon special request be sized to custom specifications.
