Elegant Coastal Cape
We provided architectural and interior design services on this exquisite home. Working within very strict shoreland zoning regulations, we were still able to meet all the client’s needs by maximizing square footage without compromising the views and design.
This home is perched on a cliffside with a 180-degree view of the coast of Maine. The client was thinking windows—and lots of them. Their love for the ocean is evident both inside and out with two custom-built saltwater aquariums and a roof top deck that spans nearly the complete length of the rear side of the house. In keeping with the lighthouse effect for the main entrance it allowed for the peak of the lighthouse—which is accessible from the roof top deck—to become a relaxing enclosed space for viewing the ocean, no matter what the weather might be.
