And mostly, the profound believe that food is the ultimate cultural currency….people want to create spaces where our loved ones want to hang out and spend time with us. The kitchen is where all the action is, where people can help, participate, feel life happening and be a part of it…even if they don’t know how to hold a knife! Who cares! Pull up a stool and help clean veggies, shuck corn, chop herbs, whatever. People want to feel a part of something and the kitchen immediately creates a sense of belonging that no other room in the house has the ability to create. “What can I do” being the standard question of anyone who comes over for a dinner party, a cookout, whatever.
