Warm chestnut stain question.....help - Hi. We are building a house and the painters just stained our knotty alder cabinets with SW warm chestnut stain. Our cabinets ended up with a red tint. Is there a red tint to your cabinets? Please advise. Thanks so much! »
Jenkins Custom Homes Well, no, not really, but it's kind of subjective. Did you have them do a sample first? You might have them do a sample with an additional coat of stain and see if that gets you the shade you want. Stains are really hard because every wood is different and even the weather on the day you stain can affect the outcome. Hope it all works out for you.
Elaina - Do you know the exact style/model number of the chandelier? I was looking on the Savoy House web site and could not find the exact match for this one. I'd like to contact them. Thanks. »
Jenkins Custom Homes The backsplash itself is just a simple travertine, but the glass and wrought iron piece was commissioned by a local artist: http://www.lifeafterart.com/
Jenkins Custom Homes That is an ogee edge laminated over a full bullnose. I like to do the thicker counter on the island but a regular 3cm edge on the other countertops in the kitchen. Your eye is drawn to the island edge because it's front and center. So glad you like it! :)
Jenkins Custom Homes It's approximately 8' x 5' at its largest points. It's, of course, a full slab of granite. So, we went as big as we could without causing the fabricator headaches (other than the ones this design already caused)... :)
Jenkins Custom Homes The backsplash itself is simple travertine, available most anywhere. The wrought iron on top was made by a local artist, but I bet you could find it in a home decor store...just might have to hunt a bit. Take your tape measure. :)
Jenkins Custom Homes It's a lighter color first (solid color) and then a darker color over it in a wash technique. They usually pick a color on the same paint swatch, or strip, but move two down the strip from the original color (because one color down wouldn't really show that much), and that's the overlay color!
Jenkins Custom Homes They are wrapped in solid pine (wood). Any lumber supplier (we use ProBuild here in Texas) should have them. I recommend professional installation (as these are very heavy), and a good trim carpenter will have a supplier for these.
chairs - I see that someone already inquired about the bar stools, but I don't find the reply. If you don't mind, could you please share with me who the manufacturer is and where they were purchased? »
Bella Villa Design Studio We purchased them from The Billiard Factory here in Austin, TX. The brand is Pastel Furniture and it is called the Oxford Barstool with arms in Autumn Rust upholstered in Ford Brown. It is available in both a 30" stool and a 26" counter stool.
Elainap3 - I understand that the chandelier is by Savoy House and I've been looking on their website but cant find it. Would be able to tell me the exact style/model number of it? »

i love this kitchen because of the details in the wood and i love the color of the wood mixed with the lightness of the walls and floor tiles. I would say that this is queen anne and chippendale because of the dips and rises along with the cabrioles of the corners of the table.
