A family kitchen with a focus on the yard was the Owner’s intent. Plus some space to cloister away in private luxury. Down went the useless undersized garage, and up went a two story addition. With space to drop off incoming junk, space to eat, space to lounge, space to work, and a connection to a new patio, the kitchen fulfills the goal of a room to live in. Perched above with windows all around, the new Owner’s Suite . . .
AHMANN LLC These cabinets are a semi-custom, eco-friendly, Shaker style line by Executive Kitchens - the island in Misty Green with a white glaze, perimeter cabinets in Antique White, the pantry stained in Island Finish, and the hutch rendered a deep blue.
A built-in hutch with desk space was installed at the far end of the kitchen, right against the mudroom area. The mudroom is accessed through the home's driveway, and its location encourages children and guests to take off their shoes and drop off their bags before coming into the kitchen. The raised breakfast table was made out of reclaimed wood by the project's contractor. Ahmann placed it at the end of the island rather than along the length so foot traffic from the front to the back of the kitchen would be uninterrupted. Countertops: Cambria quartz, Bristol Blue
The raised breakfast table at the end of the space is made out of reclaimed wood and stays out of the way of foot traffic near the navy built-in desk and hutch. Light-stained oak beams and accents add a warm contrast to the blue and green. See more of this kitchen
