Love the home! - Do you provide building specs and floor plans? I would love to obtain them; looking to build on presently owned property in the White Mountains of NH and definitely want to keep with esthetics of the land. »
Christopher Kellie Design Inc. Thanks! We'd be happy to send you more information. Could you email me at autumn.ckdesign@gmail.com so I can reply with more detail?
Christopher Kellie Design Inc. The red barnwood is Cabot Semi Transparent Baked Brick. This was applied to old, weathered wood, so applying the same color to new wood might result in a brighter color. It's always best to try a few samples first.
The dark grey paint color was a custom match to the metal roofing we used, so unfortunately there isn't a color name. The metal roofing color is "Burnished Slate" (a pretty universal color in metal roofing). You could probably get a roof sample from a local building supply and have the paint store match it.
This house is gorgeous, just love it. - I am a residential designer in Orlando, and wish more clients would request more modern rustic homes like this. Great Job, I am a big Fan. »
Christopher Kellie Design Inc. Thank you for the complement! To me, mixing rustic materials (like Bark Shingles and Barnwood) with clean, simple lines is the best of both worlds--Mountain Modern style maybe? You might like the book Bark House Style by Chris McCurry, she and her husband revived bark shingle siding and have great examples in the book. http://barkhouse.com/additional-information/bark-house-style/

The stone is dry stacked Tennessee Fieldstone. Thanks for the comment!
Lovely! How wide is the red structure? How wide is the cedar-shake structure? - Would the front door entrance piece be approximately 8' wide?
Thanks! »
The couple wanted to respect the pastoral site and give a nod to the area's earliest settlers. They accomplished this by incorporating barn-like shapes and barn-red color. "It was an attempt to bottle a little bit of the nostalgia you get from driving through the area, seeing beautiful old barns that have weathered some tough years," Autumn Simmons says. The facade incorporates reclaimed barn wood and shingles made from poplar bark.
