With this type of barn/sliding door, does it block out sound when closed? - I am thinking about replacing my current traditional door the leads into my laundry room with this type of barn/sliding door. Just wondering if the door is closed would it block out the sound of a running washer/dryer. My laundry room is right off the kitchen and family room. I love your door!!! »
Christopher Kellie Design Inc. This type of sliding door definitely doesn't block as much sound as a traditional hinged door. So while the look is great, the function might not suit the situation. Personally we love using them, especially for accessing areas where traditional doors are usually left open, but don't have any experience on laundry room use.
"While the interior is simple and not the typical rustic cabin style commonly found in our area, we did incorporate some reclaimed wood," says Simmons. One example is this sliding barn door in the master bathroom. The tongue and groove ceiling adds a dash of farmhouse style.Hardwood floors: American black walnut; pedestal sinks: Kohler
