There's a branch of ductwork that comes down from the standard ceiling exhaust fan into the top of the catbox area, right behind the open shelves. With the flip of a switch any pungent kitty odors can be pulled right out of the room.

The bottom and sides of the catbox cavity are lined with galvanized sheet metal with sealed seams so in the event of an accident or poor aim, nothing is soaking into sheetrock or framing.

I sized the space so the homeowners could use a standard plastic box to hold the litter, which can be easily removed for cleaning. We were initially going to put a hinged door with a smaller cutout to allow for removal of the box, but ultimately decided against it. Because of the larger opening it's very easy to reach inside if necessary.

Artisan Kitchens LLC I assume you are talking about the wainscot? The lower half of the room is wrapped in horizontal tongue and V-groove boards, painted white. This material is easily found, available at most lumberyards. Then we simply topped it with a chair rail to give it a finished look.

Christine They sell them at most home stores but you can try to find a good lumber yard that sell paneling. They will have a wide range either on hand or available through a catalog. Basically you can hang them vertical or horizontal. In you case it looks like they went horizontal and the ledge above is a simple ledge moulding or rail moulding that you can cap the top of the boards with using penny nails, or some adhesive and then a caulk for the seams.
