monika2024 John, Thanks for taking your time explaining this... I thought they might have used some sort of membrane but wasn't sure how that would stick to the tub.. This explains it pretty well. Thanks again. And I would love to see more pics!
John Whipple - By Any Design ltd. Your welcome - I said "Careful not to leave a tip under the waterproofing" - this should read "Careful not to leave a DIP under the waterproofing". A dip will form a puddle. Puddles are slow to drain so having a pitch from the wall to the tub is key.
bepsf Most folks only have space for a tub/shower combo - so having separate is a definite luxury....
...but I hear so frequently that folks who have separate hardly ever use the tub that it rarely makes sense to spend the money to have both.
I notice that there is a window inside the shower area. How about the concern of eventual water damage along the window sill? I have a large exterior window where I would like to add a shower feature to the bathtub in our remodel. Was this photo simply to display products or is this design actually functional? »
We have small children and would like to be able to give them a bath with ease. We also like the look of frameless glass for our tub/shower enclosure, but I was wondering how the enclosure could be designed similar to this to make bathing little ones easy and the faucet easily accessible.

could we convert our existing sinks to this configuration? Also for the tubs, might be nice to enclose them (using same pine paneling) and use glass doors instead of curtains. Tile floors could complete the look.
i mentioned before that toilet is best if placed next to the tub. if you have the option of putting the vanity and toilet on opposite sides that is a plus and it would look like this set up.
and here's the Waterworks website where you can see all their washstands:
