bepsf I don't know about this one specifically, but very similar vintage pieces are available for $200 and less at Garage Sales, Estate Sales, eBay, Craigslist, etc - many just need upholstering and cleanup and you have a great "new" chair.
Anne DeCocco I hope the designer will share the light source with you. I can't see it clearly enough to identify, but if you go to Bellacor.com and look at glass chandeliers, you'd be off and running. Horchow is another easy option. I really like this room. Texture, color, space--all well done. I particularly like that she put those little chairs in front of the fireplace!
maxima You can probably go to a local carpet store and have one made to your specific dimensions. They can make an area rug of any size out of any material you choose, including the fabric border. If you want to look on-line, try www.rugs-direct.com. They seem to be reasonably priced and have a large variety.
I love the way these windows are dressed. I am wondering where the shades are from. I would like to do a similar look in the living room but am having a difficult time finding shades to fit the large window. Thanks! »
Bright greens pop against the tan background, but still allow the fireplace stones and patterned rug to hold their own. This room has a lot of texture going on, but the designer has also been able to add several prints.
Open things up. If your cottage is a warren of tiny rooms, consider taking down walls and creating a more open floor plan. Also, if you have a low ceiling in a one-floor cottage, see if you can rip it out and go up to the rafters.
Expect the unexpected in a cottage-style home. I'm inspired by the fabric mix of the furniture in the living room and the neighboring dining room. There is an assortment of patterns within this open space, but the green color palette is what helps to keep the fabric medley cohesive.

Facing loveseats. It may be too symmetrical or boring but I always hated that our room had terrible and uncomfortable seating for conversation .... This looks cozy! I don't like those smallest chairs but like the ottoman. I like the chair with wood arms too.
