Stone House Heating/Cooling - My husband and I are currently considering purchasing a stone house. The current owners indicate no central air is needed because the house stays cooler in the summer and warmer in winter than wood structures. (Location is on the Connecticut shore). Has this been true in your experience? Also, the house is 200 years old - what is the most authentic roofing material? »
zennifer Not a stone house, but our brick cavity wall (double brick with airspace) house did stay cooler and warmer as mentioned. . We had about a million gallons of blow in attic insulation, too...might have been the true help, though.
