An active family of five came to us with a challenge. Help them create a family kitchen to accommodate their busy lifestyle and love of cooking. Traffic flow and work areas that kept the children involved, yet out of the way, were critical issues the client needed solved.
The result was a stunning, warm, efficient kitchen with bump-out to allow for a new island and homework and office area. Custom cabinetry and new lighting finished the room with both style and storage.

Comment from Mom: - Good use of space. Would prefer a roll-up door - this door swings to the side and take up corner space »
Sawhill - Custom Kitchens & Design, Inc. You make a good point. But the reason for the side swing door is that a roll-up door takes up more room at the top, and this client needed as much height as possible to accommodate the blender that you see. We could have raised the cabinets up and made the "appliance garage" higher to accommodate the blender, but then the cabinets would be higher and harder to reach the top shelf in the wall cabinets.
We also saved space (width) by using the refrigerator side panel as the left side of this cabinet, and hinged the doors off of a panel mounted to the wall.
Sawhill - Custom Kitchens & Design, Inc. Yes it is an "angled plug mold that is available in a variety of width.s In this project we used one's manufactured by Task Lighting Corporation.
Sawhill - Custom Kitchens & Design, Inc. The antique finish was done by the fabricator that we use prior to installation. It does not affect the maintenance of the granite. It makes fingerprints, crumbs, etc. harder to see which is great. The color is mostly black on this granite. There are other granites out there that are browner in color. You could check with your local granite yard to see what they carry. I hope that your new counters turn out well! Thank you for the interest in our kitchen!

Concealing countertop appliances; I also like the off-white cabinets with the antique-like hardware-the hardware may be the piece to tie-in the rest of the house
We were consider doing one of these bump outs if it's possible. Also that looks like the cabinet face that I want except for I wanted the arch at the top. I like all the groves and the dark shading in side the grooves
