Colonial update traditional-kitchen

Colonial update

My client wished to update her 1960's era colonial with traditional style mixed with transitional elements. She needed storage and casual dining space for her extended family with the ability to create meals on a daily basis. We achieved this by combining white painted inset flat panel cabinets with a stainless steel farm sink and appliances. I also created two custom hutch pieces in vintage green to use as cabinets and display. We removed the existing ceramic tile floor and added oak flooring to soften the room and provide a comfortable work surface.

Hello Sampistana,
Thank you for your interest in this kitchen. The overall space is 20' x 11'. On the window wall, the cabinets and peninsula occupy 11'- 7", the wall to the right of sink is 11'-3" including a doorway, and the wall across from the sink has 7'-8" worth of cabinet space, then a doorway, and a 48" hutch sits across from the end of peninsula. I hope this helps to answer your questions.

Island - I love this kitchen. it is about the size of mine. Did you take the island out and completely change the appliances around. Does the room still fit a table and pantry?

Thanks, the homeowner loves it too. This is a long narrow room and an island would have been very narrow or we would have had to sacrifice cabinest on the wall opposite the sink (where the refrigerator and ovens are, along with a pantry cabinet). Every thing is new here, inlcuding the appliances. The cook top used to be on the short wall with very little landing space left and right. I moved it to the long wall and extended the peninsula back. Seating is at the peninsula (there used to be a table space at this end of the kitchen, but with the dining room next door they decided to opt for more casual dining space). For pantries we added two hutch units that look like furniture but have lots of storage space.
