I love this house! You did a wonderful job. - These stairs are exactly what I was envisioning for my stairs from the 1st level family room up to the 3rd floor attic. Can you tell me the width of the stairs and the dimensions of the staircase? Also, how high are the ceilings? Do the stairs leading up to this floor have the same L-shape or are they straight? Would love to see the plans of the staircase if possible. TIA! »
Witt Construction As you make the turn on the landing seen here and head up the stairs, the stairwell is 3' 6" and leads straight up to the 2nd floor landing/loft area. The open railing in the left side of the photo is the stairwell leading to a Lower Level; it is a straight stair adn is also 3' 6". The ceiling on this 1st floor are 9' the ceilings in the Lower Level and 2nd Floor are 8'.
Square spindle to be utilized where new balustrades are required - e.g. from 2nd floor to attic in Main house, and from entry to 2nd floor in Carriage house
the dark brown and light blue colours go so well together in the natural light, I'm sure that built-in bench has gotten a lot of use to simply enjoy surroundings.
great use of natural sunlight in the staircase, and the window seat in the staircase is a wonderful way to make more use of that space. Staircases and hallways are usually wasted squarefootage where it's only purpose is to drive traffic from one room to another. This is a great way to make that space into a dwelling place.
