This tiny bathroom remodel in Portland facilitates aging-in-place by tucking a fully functioning shower into a first floor bathroom. The 3' by 3' wet room also employs universal design features like a no-lip shower and a cleverly-placed toilet to allow seated bathing. Fixtures and shelving are placed in a corner to maximize elbow-room, and a sink and gray water cistern system integrated into the toilet conserves both water and space.

why, and what do you wear on your feet when you only need the toilet »
Hammer And Hand The project was designed in case the home owners were unable to access the second floor allowing them to occupy the home in their later years. Since there is a drain in the floor, the water would drain out and the floor would not be wet so now special footwear would be required.
Hammer And Hand The framing was adjusted to allow for the appropriate drainage to the strip drain at the back wall (2 square drains at either end of the strip drain by Schluter) The Kerdi system was installed as a waterproof system beneath the tile throughout. Schluter-Kerdi system. Great question!
how to add a sink to this bathroom - Our bathroom is few feet larger than the one pictured here. We want to add a small sink. There is room next to the toilet (tile flooring) or on the opposite wall, inside the shower which has the teak flooring. Which would be the cheaper to install?
thank you! »
Where is the toilet paper? - I have a tiny shower in my toilet closet too and would love to remove the door for more elbow room, but I am stuck on where to put the toilet paper roll should go. Please enlighten me! »
We have this exact Caroma toilet-sink combo in our powder room. You wash your hands with the clean water that refills the tank post-flush. It saves space where a sink just isn't possible, and it's an easy way to reuse and conserve water. Plus, it quickly becomes a dinner party conversation piece.

while this would not work for me, isn't this Caroma toilet-sink combo cool? You wash your hands with the clean water that refills the tank post-flush.
