tamifanni Actually I have a Golden Retriever that has his "route" lol he left his trail on our previous Redwood deck (of 25 yrs), we've recently replaced with new Cedar. Were trying to find a Beautiful stain that will enhance the wood but tone down the "gold" in it. Tired of Redwood from the last deck. Also, I'm concerned with footprints on the deck when choosing a new stain as well. And with all that it seems CA stain law has changed & carries little choices in Oil stains. Thought I'd do my homework before making a big decorator mistake with this 3200sq/ft deck. I appreciate all your informative knowledge & will keep that in mind. Thank you so much for your response.

mnykamp Love your work on this house---how long do you think the Sansin SDF will last? Trying to figure out exterior finishes; absolutely love wood but the hot CA sun worries me. Thanks!
