Paul Anater That looks like it's made from stone, probably honed Crema Marfil. That's available from any decent tile showroom and it's not terribly expensive. It appears to have pretty rough edges and that's a fairly large grout line based on what I can see. That uneven edge makes me think even more that it's a natural stone. I hope that helps.
Don't think that a kitchen, with all its steel appliances and cold countertops, can’t feel cozy. With an oversize rug added to the mix, it certainly can.
Wooden ceiling beams. This architectural detail is often found throughout the house. And how about that cozy cooking alcove? Love the dark center, white surrounds.
Other than the open shelves and the carpet, this has some merit as having simple functional materials for a kitchen workspace, not sure about the bar and serving area.
