I probably use this image way too often, but the conversion of propane tanks to kitchen island pendants is just too clever. The house is a wonderful balance between traditional luxe and contemporary edginess. Industrial pieces are an important ingredients in the mix.

This is one of my all-time favorite repurposing projects. Those fabulous rusty and crusty oversized pendant lights were propane tanks in a former life.

Here's the solution if you have the space: a perfect U with an island and seating for 4! If I'm not mistaken I see two sinks, one in front of each window. That's a great alternative to the island prep sink.

This photo captures a rough industrial look and feel achieved an ensemble one of a kind lighting fixtures and furnishings from recycled or salvaged materials in a rehab industrial building's space that is now a kitchen. The lights are even distressed and curious objects of interest. I assume they are fully finished and sealed as speaking from experience, the aging process continues on exposed ferrous products especially in humid and warm rooms such as a kitchen or bathroom. (See www.Railroadware.com) The use of the orchard latter as a decorative accessory is unusual member to a traditional kitchen ensemble of parts. It speaks to the height and size of the room. Perhaps the ladder has an additional use or function other then decorative and evoking comment as a visitor to the space.
