Where do your legs go? - Isn't it customary to have a space underneath?

Oh I see what you mean - the photo makes it appear as if there is glass around the wood. If you look at ecofirstart.com and search elm tree table - the picture will show that there is space under the glass top - and the glass top is longer than it appears so there is leg room. If you like I can get some better photos for you to see.

Best,

Product Description

The tree species is Elm, the tree was a "standing dead tree" when harvested, the color is dark brown (shown), color options are Ferrari red, black and chartreuse, (custom colors would be considered). The flat or vertical surface is hand scraped and stained natural with a clear shellac finish.
Artist and furniture designer literally taps the root of his creative vision when exploring wooded areas in search of trees that while are no longer leafing; will begin a new cycle when incorporated into unique furnishings. Working with organic material allows John to ___render functional and contemporary pieces that are visually stunning, honor the natural environment and remind us of where wood comes from". Foraging in the local countryside, John collects natural materials with an eye to its use and placement in relation to the composition of the finished piece. To ensure stability and longevity for each component, John employs techniques, tooling and processes he has personally designed and developed. Precise cutting, aligning and connecting of the elements is achieved using sharp tooling, thoughtful placement and the desire and passion to create. John_s aptitude for woodworking was evident early-on; by the age of nine, he was allowed to use the woodworking power tools in his father_s workshop and his life path chose him. Primarily self-taught as a designer, carpenter and woodworker, John developed skills and methods that enable him to work and think outside the box.
