Eggleston Farkas Architects The windows are Milgard thermally broken aluminum windows (anodized dark bronze color which is basically black), with custom Lyptus interior trim. So, most of what you're seeing in the photo is the trim, with a narrow profile of the aluminum window. Similarly, the front door is a solid core door painted black, with a custom stainless steel escutcheon at the knob, ant trimmed to match the windows.
Eggleston Farkas Architects This is a custom dining room set that our clients already had before we started the design process and which was the primary inspiration for the color palette of the wood (and other finishes) throughout the house. I do not know who the woodworker who made it is (although I could ask the owners if you would like). The wood species of the dining set is bubinga (http://www.wood-database.com/lumber-identification/hardwoods/bubinga/), and the dining room floor/walls/ceiling are Lyptus (www.lyptus.com). I hope that helps.
Even one step can make a big difference. Here the dining room is inside a portal that is positioned next to the entry and juts towards the front of the house. The step up is needed to make the room a four-sided wood object in the house. It also accentuates the movement into this special space overlooking a small yet wonderful landscaped area.

8. Consider public and private spaces. When thinking about public versus private spaces, think about whether you want some of the spaces enclosed, or partially walled off. Bedrooms are private spaces that should be located in a quieter area of the living space. Kitchens are open and public. How do you like your dining room? In open communication with the kitchen, or more enclosed for a formal feel?
