careyhildebrand I can't tell that it has blue tones... Does it??? I am trying to find a natural beige... with not any undertones.... Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Arcadia Gardens, LLC Most flagstone has some sort of undertone/coloration. For the beige to tan colors, try Sierra sandstone...or similar stones sourced from the Western US.
Ute Faber Pergolas come in all different materials and sizes. It really all depends on how much maintenance you would like to do and how long you would like it to last. The best wood for Outdoor Structures really is Cedar or Redwood. Redwood is much redder in color whereas Cedar has different color variations from light to red in the wood itself. Cedar has insect resistant and decay resistant properties, but seems to be more cost-efficient than Redwood. You dont' have stain or seal Cedar, but it will turn a silvery grey within about 1.5 years, alternatively to keep the lovely color you can use a clear stain with or without pigments. Depending on the quality of the paint manufacturer, you may have to restain every 3 years or so. Cedar also likes to be painted and many old Victorian houses did have Cedar siding and were painted solid colors. Stephanie Ann Davis Landscape Design This is constructed from douglas fir and then stained. It was not a prefabricated structure, it was costumed designed and installed. Not sure how others can answer my questions on houzz???
