D-CRAIN Design and Construction The tree on the right is a Shoestring Acacia (Acacia stenophylla). The past couple of harsh winters have damaged some Shoestring Acacias that we've planted at other projects, but this one has held up pretty well.
Attached is another photo of this same tree.

This is kind of the direction I was talk about with the asymmetry. But if we are symmetrical on the fireplace I think it's important to be consistent with the hardscape.
