Use tile in high-traffic zones. Unlike wood floors (or carpeting), tile stands up well to rough treatment for many years without showing signs of wear. Entryways, mudrooms, halls and stairs can all benefit from this hardworking flooring.
It's pretty standard to take a photo from the front door into the entry, right? But try taking a shot of the entry from the interior toward the front door and open the door, as in this photo.
