Glenna Partridge Garden Design The grass is Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola'. (common name: Japanese Forest Grass). Grows in full sun or shade conditions but make sure it gets adequate water in full sun conditions. There is also a cultivar named 'All Gold' which is all yellow. It's easy to grow and the foliage dies down to the ground in the winter. USDA zone 5 or 5a I think. I hope this helps!
