On the left is a chinese banana is in the foreground. Behind the banana is a Verbascum (white and yellow) and behind that is Nicotiana sylvestris.

Palm leaves arching overhead shade this space whlie the shrubs below almost overtake the walkway, just as they would overtake a jungle path. The result is rich yet cool, a respite from the sun and a garden that invites you to explore what's past all the foliage.Design tip: Adding vines to grow along a fence or even up a tree trunk will also contribute to the effect.

Looks like banana palms...good shape but need to be trimmed sometimes. I like the tropical looking evergreen on the rhs.

Goes great wtih this modern door. Softens the hard lines. Typically you think of minimalist gardening going with modern, but this changes my mind about that!
