Tile installation - Awesome design. I live in Alpharetta and am looking for a great tile installer. Do you have a recommendation? »
JR McDowell Homes Hi John! Well, not certain about the manufacturer, but it is stone pebble and comes on 12"x12" sheets. Should be simple enough to locate. These are more rounded, but I have seen others that are smooth and flat. They come in different colors.
Pebble Tile Shop We carry a wide selection of pebble tile. If you like this you should get a few samples. I would say our 'tan and white' would be very similar to this color:
JR McDowell Homes Yes, please see the photo of the black twin vanity with cable suspended mirrors under my "Glenwood Park" photo group. That is what you are looking for. The cabinet has a Black Magic finish with rubbed edges and Crema Marfil top. Good luck!
JR McDowell Homes Red oak flooring with Min-Wax Dark Walnut stain. With the sun shining through the window it appears lighter. As with any stained floor, it will vary in appearance throughout the course of a day. Good luck with your project!
What brand/style of faucets did you use? - I am in love with this bathroom! Well done! It is our inspiration photo for our master bathroom we are building right now. Thank you so much for sharing! :) »
JR McDowell Homes Kohler Fairfax with brushed nickel finish in the shower. Sunrise Specialty #433 tub fill with brushed nickel finish at clawfoot tub. Good luck!
JR McDowell Homes Late late response, I apologize! Not sure, as I am only the builder, not the tile expert. I would suggest framing the space to meet the tile requirements if possible. Otherwise, rely on a creative tile expert.
JR McDowell Homes What you see is red oak, but any wood should perform fine as long as your residence is temperature regulated and your bathroom has appropriate exhaust fan systems.
JR McDowell Homes Two of my bathrooms have 3/4" site finish nail down application. One of my bathrooms has 3/4" site finish glue down application. All bath floors have performed positively for six years now.
aawise01 Just bought two of them that look extremely similar at Lowes. I did not realize this until your comment made me look at the light above the bathtub. The finish is dark oil-rubbed bronze however, by allen+roth.
Paint colors: - Hi...what color is the wall paint? Also, did you use the same grout color for both the river rock and glass tile? The glass tile grout appears to be white, but i'm not sure about the river rock. Thanks! Fabulous room! »
JR McDowell Homes Hi Paula! The wall paint is Sherwin Williams "Sea Salt" in flat, but beware what formula you end up with. Recently, a client of mine chose Sea Salt and ended up with an irregular variation. May take a couple tries. It may be difficult to notice, but the outside walls of the Sunshine clawfoot tub are painted Sea Salt too. It is noticeable when comparing the rim to the tub face.
Yes, the grout color is the same for both the wall tile and pebble floor.
Sherri Douglas What is the depth of the portion of the shower that extends beyond the painted wall. I am considering this configuation to extend the existing shower in my rather small bathroom.
is it podigle to have hardwood floor in bathroom? - hello i just love hardwood floor in the bathroom but when i start to tell my contractors or friends they think i am crazy. am i? maybe there are some tips or protection? »
JR McDowell Homes Iren, I have encountered no issues with hardwood flooring in a bathroom area. The shower/bath in this photo is used very very regularly and there has never been any problems. The flooring is as smooth as it was originally finished. There is an exhaust fan in this space, which is activated when showering. I would only be concerned with young kids using a bathroom and neglectfully leaving water standing on the floor for long periods of time. We all know this is a bad thing. Standing water on a wood floor equals damage over time. Or, a shower equipped with a steam shower and inadequate ventilation (exhaust) would not be a great combination either.
Overall, I have installed hardwoods for many clients in their bathrooms and kitchens and have not experienced a negative result. So, push on with your love for hardwood flooring in bathroom spaces and know that your contractors and friends are simply uninformed.
ultralil They have new tile out that looks identical to hardwood floors. If you love the look but worry about the real hardwood in the bathroom area, you should give it a try. I have seen it in tile stores and had to touch it to see if it was tile or wood.
See, just enough pale color on the wall so it isn't stark white but trimmed smartly with stark white... lovely tile color in shower and love the shower curb. Beautiful and tasteful.
