bepsf Appears to be Terra Cotta - I'd start by taking a trip to your local garden supply center (not a national chain) and let them know what you're looking for.
A single large-scale object always makes a bigger splash than a cluster of small objects. That's obvious here, where the saucer-shape water feature dominates (but doesn't overwhelm) this Spanish-style courtyard. Its dimensions are practically the same as the arches across the loggia, unifying the water feature with its surroundings.
I like the dog pool! I wonder if that's just a plain terra cotta pot. Kind of looks like it is. It's just a warm look. I can see some pretty cushions on the furniture. The plantings add a lot of ambiance, not sure how welcoming this area is though.
you could do the area that has rock underneath with small gravel and do pavers on top as stepping stones, then use planters to plant desert plants that DONT need much water lol!!
