During Georgian times (reigns of England's King Georges, I through III), symmetry ruled. You might even see a room with a fake door on the inside to force the appearance of symmetry! Today it isn't as important and can, in fact, add interest to your space. Since you cannot make your space look like symmetrical, suggest you celebrate it and do different things on either side of the window. :) Rhoda
