Carolina Design Associates, LLC Also there are paint options tagged on the wall. This is an old project which we no longer have the notes on. Therefore we don't have the exact color information.
Carolina Design Associates, LLC Take a look at the image tag on the wall. It lists several options since we no longer have design notes on this. Also please realize that pictures don't always show the color properly. Also a paint that looks good in this space may not work in yours due to lighting differences.

polished nickel? - Loved loved this light as a much less expensive alternative to the very similar Urban Electric $3K one. and they carry it in polished nickel now!! Claire at Lantern and Scroll could NOT be any more helpful. Made some custom adjustments (no bars reaching up to the chain, clear glass, etc.) and she even provided detail drawings on exactly how to space them over our island. Brilliant! »

Carolina Design Associates, LLC Actually there are 7 tags in all. For us when we click on the text to advance we don't see tags. However when we click on the image to advance we do see tags.
Moulding - Is the moulding along the ceiling between the cabinets and slightly smaller version of that that goes above the cabinets? I have a similar set up but nothing on the wall...wondering if it's all matchy matchy or not.
Thanks! »
Carolina Design Associates, LLC Peopled have referenced several places like amazon, target, etc. The client for this particular project had sourced this locally so we don't have the details about where they were actually purchased.

shinealways I have sampled several BM colors searching for this paint color and have concluded that most likely it is Kendall Charcoal by BM. Hope this helps.
Carolina Design Associates, LLC This project was done quite a while ago and we no longer have the design notes. The wood is maple but the stain were unsure of but believe it's similar to espresso. However I do have to say that most of the stains we do are a custom finish. They are a mixture of 2 or more stains to compliment the surrounding finishes.

Carolina Design Associates, LLC The cost to remodel can vary widely regardless of the size of the space. We would recommend writing down your thoughts about what you would like in a new kitchen and what you don't like about your current kitchen. Also know what amount your willing to spend. Then approach a local Kitchen Designer\Interior Designer or Contractor about your options and pricing. They will work with your notes and present options to you so you can make a decision.

Carolina Design Associates, LLC To expand a bit more.... 36" is the minimum width you want in between, 42" is the minimum you want if you have a dishwasher, etc in between so you have room to walk around and if you have a double oven then you would want 48" in between.

Carolina Design Associates, LLC Ceiling height is 9'. The upper cabinets are actually 2 cabinets. The small glass door cabinet is an individual cabinet, and the main door cabinet. The sided fixed panel is all one panel.

Carolina Design Associates, LLC It is a red oak species floor, but we matched the existing hardwoods in the house (this kitchen was a renovation). We do not have record of this exact stain color. If you want a nice strain color to try: Minwax English chestnut stain.

Carolina Design Associates, LLC This was a renovation, we matched existing house floors. But it's red oak flooring. The stain is very close to a Minwax provincial stain.
Carolina Design Associates, LLC A local tile shop should have it if your referring to the subway tile and can point you in the right direction for either the tile or the countertop
ric2013 Why can't the designers add the manufactures info on every aspect instead of people having to spend so much time trying to find out , finishes , colors , countertops , floors etc please add all info on one page . Have to dig too much
what metal tones did you use in the rest of the house? - we recently installed copper fixtures over our island an i am looking to replace the current (oil rubbed bronze) cabinet knobs but i am having trouble picking some new knobs. we have a lot of oil rubbed bronze in the surrounding spaces(foyer chandelier, living room built ins knobs etc.) but i absolutely love the nickel finish you used here! would it be taboo to mix that many metal finishes? »
Carolina Design Associates, LLC I typically like to keep it minimal. Therefore you see two different finishes here. If I added more I would feel as though it was very busy. However in saying that it's your house, your style, if it makes you feel good then go with it.
Any tips on a durable finishe for painted cabinets? I want to put these in my home! - I love what you have done with this kitchen! It inspired me! I want to put painted cabinets in my kitchen. Any tips on finishes? Will a top clear coat or a varnish allow for touch ups? Any help/tips are appreciated! »

lyrics1967 All I want to know is if my monitor is accurate. The color looks gray. My husband thinks it has green undertones. I don't see it like he does.
Carolina Design Associates, LLC The backsplash is a 2x4 Calcutta gold marble tile. The countertops are a granite. Some call it Antique Brown and some call it Maroon Cohiba.
lyrics1967 The counter top around the sink is a brown? I thought it was black, different from the island? Are they actually the same counter color and material?
May I please use this photo in a blog post? - I'd give you photo credit and include a link back to this page (or any other page you'd prefer I link to instead) »

Carolina Design Associates, LLC We no longer have the design notes but they are different colors. The crown and cabinets match and the ceiling is a different color.
karenlrice I have used Benjamin Moore's "Iron Mountain". It looks exactly like this picture.
Iron Mountain is a true charcoal but definitely has a green undertone. It really depends on the light in your own room as to the finished look. Always good to try the five dollar sample before purchasing the 60 dollar gallon.
missangel99 I would like to use this Ashley Grey also. Can anyone recommend a good true beige to use in another room that would be straight across from this one?

Marie Meko, Allied ASID I prefer stainless appliances. I think they are versatile and give a nice reflection of other colors in the room. White can be stark and draw the eye to the appliances rather than put them in the background. I also think they give the feel of a professional kitchen .
sueny4 Check out Pratt & Lambert's line of "Williamsburg" colors - I have "Purdie House Slate Grey" in my family room, and it's an exact match of this picture....grey with very slight green undertones. It's a very beautiful color against white or off-white trim.
purchasing photos - Hi there,
I am a marketing coordinator for a Real Estate team. We love the pictures you post on your website. Can we purchase some photo usage from Houzz.com?
Thank you! »
Anne DeCocco I'm sure you need to contact the designer and/or photographer of each photo to arrange that. Just click on "more info" at the bottom of the photo and you'll easily find a link to their Houzz profile and then usually to more contact info. It's pretty easy to get around this Houzz!
Jeff Kern Rocky Mountain Hardware makes an exceptional product! I live minutes away from their manufacturing, but they come with a hefty price tag. If it was me, I would look at Top Knob. Here is a link to the bin pull pictured below (it is #M359, but comes in several different finishes) http://www.topknobs.com/ProductDetail.aspx?opt=prod&l1=0&l2=1&prod_id=M359&prod_type=-1

Matt Patterson Custom Homes Personally, I get bored of seeing the same thing in every room. I prefer to change it up but use elements from one room to the next to maintain a sense of continuity.
Carolina Design Associates, LLC If that's the look and feel you desire then by all means. Just know that tile can be very cold and you may want to heat some areas of it, depending on the climate you live in. We have clients that have done this in the main living spaces but may use carpets in the bedrooms.
angeliat Would you have a guess as to the height of the upper cabinet combination? would it be a 36" with a 12" and then a crown added to take it to the ceiling? We are building a new house and I love the idea of taking the cabinets all the way to the ceiling.
Lantern & Scroll Hi! The lanterns are from Lantern & Scroll, located in Charlotte, NC. Please call or email if you would like pricing or more pictures: 704.333.5088, www.lanternandscroll.com, or lanternandscroll@gmail.com
Carolina Design Associates, LLC This was done several years ago and we no longer have our design notebook for this particular project. Based on my memory it was roughly a 300 sq ft kitchen (picture does not show entire kitchen). Cost for a kitchen like this can vary a great deal depending on your finishes. This particular project had granite, marble, custom cabinets, custom copper hood and appliances. Cost was in excess of 75K.
2. Invest in white cabinetry. Many home buyers younger than 40 prefer white or off-white kitchen cabinetry. They don't want to see their momma's dark kitchen cabinetry in their new home! Consider a kitchen facelift if you have dark kitchen cabinetry with orange or red undertones. Benjamin Moore's Advance is a great paint to consider. It's a hybrid of latex and oil, and it requires very little prep work.
1. Eye-catching copper and gray. Traditional copper lanterns set over a marble-topped kitchen island add an unexpected touch to this kitchen. Houzz readers also noted the beautiful trimwork and soothing green-gray wall color when saving this popular kitchen photo to their ideabooks.

Mom likes the combo of white and wood in island: also likes gray on walls, "makes white [trim] pop" Floor and wood tones "warms it up" also I think the light fixutres warm it up, but she didn't mention those.
