Scatter rug. Pros- cheap, nice looking, add design to the room, soft. Cons- need maintenance, absorb water. You would find this pretty much anywhere but a kitchen. Bedrooms, etc. These are popular because of how cheap but nice looking they are.

Scatter Rugs; Are basically like having more than one area rug but they match. Pros- They are cheap and add design to a room. Also can be put in useable places where you need softness under your feet. (in front of a sink or under a chair). Cons- They need maintenance, they absorb water therefore mold and mildew. They fade and don't last very long. Good thing they are cheap. They are used anywhere throughout the house. And are more popular then wall to wall carpeting because people like more expensive flooring but still want areas with carpet.

Designer Alison Mountain describes her style as "laid-back elegant" — a fitting description for this chic home. A pure white hide covers the floor in the space just off the home's entryway.
