Conceived as a remodel and addition, the final design iteration for this home is uniquely multifaceted. Structural considerations required a more extensive tear down, however the clients wanted the entire remodel design kept intact, essentially recreating much of the existing home. The overall floor plan design centers on maximizing the views, while extensive glazing is carefully placed to frame and enhance them. The residence opens up to the outdoor living and views from multiple spaces and visually connects interior spaces in the inner court. The client, who also specializes in residential interiors, had a vision of ‘transitional’ style for the home, marrying clean and contemporary elements with touches of antique charm. Energy efficient materials along with reclaimed architectural wood details were seamlessly integrated, adding sustainable design elements to this transitional design. The architect and client collaboration strived to achieve modern, clean spaces playfully interjecting rustic elements throughout the home.

Running a business from home? In that case, you will likely need more room to spread out. A repurposed dining table is just the right size to serve as a hub for meetings and idea development. You could even take over the actual dining room at certain times of day until you are able to set up a dedicated office.Style ideas: A pair of industrial-style pendant lights and an oversize wall clock play with scale in this spacious office. A graceful upholstered bench and stone urns add a classical note.
If there are rooms in your home that you seldom use, think about repurposing them. Increase the function of your formal dining room by making it do double duty as an office, a library or a homework area. It can still look great and serve your needs.See how to repurpose your dining room

This is definitely not my style, but using a couple of office chairs in cute colors at the breakfast nook table would help it also function as a home office (can swivel around the the armoir/desk on a different wall- put kitchen decor in upper glass front cabinets to make it look less like an office piece of furniture)
