What color are doors, baseboards, door and window trims throughout the rest of the house? - We are trying to keep our new mountain home from being too dark. Stained trim makes a house darker... Even the wall of windows...is it better to see the view through white trim or stained trim?
-Can the trim be white and use interior stained wood doors for entry doors to bedrooms and use painted doors for bath and closet doors?
- Or can the trim all be stained and use white doors throughout the house?
Many thanks... »
Tape lighting. Relatively new to the market, tape lighting is so named because it has hundreds of tiny lights fixed to a flexible band that comes off a roll — just like tape. This living room has it above the molding on the ceiling and above the fireplace mantel. Design tip: While tape lighting can be great when you want to light lots of linear footage, it can also get very expensive depending on the manufacturer.

Tape lighting used above molding and fireplace to highlight the fireplace and surrounding area. Tape lightening is great for lighting a lot of linear footage but can be expensive.
