This space works for the same reasons the one pictured above works. Oh, and I love that goldenrod wall - shelves that are arranged so well create balance and harmony to a space.

The parallel placement of this desk along the window and its monochromatic discretion certainly add to rather than distract from the visual flow of this room. This could also easily serve as a dining spot. Morning light, paper. Can't you almost smell the coffee?

We could have a similar shelving system along one of the partial walls of the loft. It's cost-effective, not having cupboard doors. The painted wall behind the shelves seems to make the shelves lighter, so they take up less visual space and almost seem to float. the shelves would have to be thick, like the ones pictured. Dust would be a problem though, with open shelves. I wonder if a curtain, either sheer or opaque, could look good and reduce dust.

Orange is one of my favorite colors and I especially love how it works with the white shelves and neat accessories. The shelves could look messy, but don't since the accessories are so similar in color.

These simple shelves are a cool alternative to traditional bookshelves. I love the white-on-orange - it brings life to the space - and while the shelves pictured mostly hold art objects, they'd look equally nice stacked with books and boxes.

This is another example of how natural lighting can be used to make a home office space a great space to work. The problem here, however, is that the desk is right in front of the window which can create glare for some types of work. The side seating away from the desk will be good to use during times when the sunlight through the window is too direct.
