All natural indigo was used to hand-dye these patches of linen and crepe de chine before they were pieced and quilted together into a beautiful quilt top. The inside is organic, low-loft Warm and Natural cotton batting, and the backing is a golden washed silk (Marc Jacobs lining) with a cotton voile strip in the center. Because of the wonderfully contrasted fibers and textures in the natural fabrics, the quilt dimensions aren't perfectly rectangle, which would make this a near impossible project to finish by machine. The quilt binding is hand-sewn by me, which allowed me to take my time and contour the binding to the natural, unique and improvised edges of the quilt. From the Seller" "As a quilter, this was a dream project of mine and it took me almost as long to salvage enough scraps for this as it did to actually finish it. The crispiness of the backing supports the delicate squares of silk, while still allowing a lovely drape. It's such a beautiful, yet versatile and practical piece. I could see this as a stunning wall hanging or a folded accent at the edge of a bed." Dimensions are roughly 64" x 50".
