How do you finish the edges in the shower with the carrera marble - I have a 3x3 shower that I am going to do carrera marble in. I want to use the 6x12 tiles on the walls, in the nich, and on the ceiling. I want to put the carrera marble hexagon tiles on the shower floor. How do you finish the edges off where the tile runs out of the shower on the wall? »
Clark Harris Hello
Yes this marble is honed. If you need to polish the edges you may want to hire a professional, this is a little trickier
Thank you

Clark Harris I am sorry I can not find a record of it. I think it is antique white. A light grey works well with this marble as well and wears a little better over time

Clark Harris Hello
Funny you should ask we just had to deal with this same issue this week. We have handled it in two different ways. The first is to place a 1x4 behind the crown--- I like to hang it about 3/16" below the bottom of the crown to give it some volume and a nice joint to caulk rather that leave it flush with the bottom of the crown. We just do this at the shower area but you could continue it around the room. The second solution, that is more difficult in my opinion, is to bevel the tile (cut the edge of the tile at 45 degrees or greater and let it 'ride' up the crown to a thicker point than the bottom. If you are not an experienced tile setter I would not try this option. Hope that helps

Do you have a small sink 17" tolit and walk inshower w/ seat for small space? - All I need is asmalllish sink A 17" tollet for handicapped and a wal in shower with seat for a small space. Do you have any pictures of something like that? »
What is the wall color above the wainscoting? - Beautiful bathroom! We are using similar colors in a bathroom remodel and love the wall color. It's complimentary, but doesn't compete with the beauty of the stone. Thanks! »
Shower and Bath Fixtures - What is the brand and finish of your shower fixture, the rainhead looks amazing? Do you have suggestions on where to buy them at the best price? »
Clark Harris Hi. We make our own bullnose. You can use a special blade that will give you a
cove. But we just sand it using a palm sander and we keep using finer grade sand paper. It does not take very long
Good luck and thanks

I am going to use a honed white Biannco Carrara Marble on the MasterBath Floor, how did you design your shower floor and wall? I am concerned with using too small a pattern due how much grout and the cleaning. I like this look you have. »
Here is one that could provide some idea. I would love to assist you in a design if you are interested. Feel free to contact me privately so that I we can discuss some specifics. moniqueflesher@gmail.com

Clark Harris Hello
White carrera marble...it is honed meaning it is not shiny (polished)
We use a really small grout joint (about an 1/8" or less)
You may also want to seal it since it is a natural stone
Thank you
Clark
Yes I agree this was custom made by Chattahoochee Glass in Duluth GA. I would recommend getting a few quote and check referrals if you use a local company. In GA a 5' opening like this is about $1300

Natural Stone. Most stone tile does not come with trim pieces because the edges can be ground down to soften them. In this cararra marble bath, there are no trim pieces, just smooth edges.
