What do you think about mixing two different furniture finishes in bedroom furniture within one room? - I'm thinking of purchasing the Paula Deen Savannah 4 poster bed in Molasses and the complimenting night stands and media chest in the linen (a distressed antique white). Please offer me your expert advice. There will be no other furniture in the room except a small antique rattan love seat. One entire wall is windows, floor to ceiling, with custom shutters (Budget Blinds) that match the window trim and crown molding (antique white). The room is approximately 17 feet x 13 feet. Walls are a wheat color. I'm trying to decide whether to order the set in Molasses or go with some pieces in linen. Thank you so much for your help. Terry Jenkins »

michigammemom You can absolutely mix finishes. The inspiration room in this photo wouldn't be nearly as interesting visually if all of the wood pieces matched.
