Jerry Jacobs Design, Inc. Thank you for your very good question bepsf. Of course it is, and fun as Rebecca hints.. The first glass floor I stepped on was at Tower Records in London in 1985, 27 years ago. Old technology very safe. It has to be properly designed and engineered, as well as built to code as this one is. You can go to your nearest Apple store and most likely they will have a Glass staircase. Call first!

Here’s a glass floor landing at the top of a staircase, looking down onto the library. Install a skylight above the glass floor to bring extra natural light into the room below. And check your fear of heights at the front door!
Glass floor on landing reminds me of a huge, enormous old public library I visited as a young child - it really opens up the area and creates the illusion of it being larger than it really is, also saves electricity.

Glass floors need not be limited to walkways or bridges. This square patch of glass floor helps bring light to the library below.
Here is one more Maniscalco project that also places a glass floor under a skylight. It just makes sense to tie the two together vertically, so they work in concert.
