Rachel Greathouse This was a wooden door that we painted....The paint color details are listed in the Q & A....It was a custom mix I just came up with to get the color I was looking for:))
Rachel Greathouse The paneling was done when we purchased the home but just looks like basic Home Improvement store paneling...should be easy to emulate:)
Rachel Greathouse This was a plain wooden door we painted in a semi gloss...If you look at the Q & A I have the combination of reds I used if you want to try it out:))
Rachel Greathouse The lights are a Lowes purchase....They have a great selection that look like this style however I don't know the brand off hand...They are very reasonable and durable:)
Building a house - We want a red front door for our new house and are trying to decide what color hardboard siding and shingles. We will have white trim. What color is your house? We love the front door style and color. Thanks! »
diananjohn I love your door! Thank you for posting it! This might be a weird question, but is the interior side of the door red? I can't decide if I want my interior red or white. What do you recommend?
Rachel Greathouse I thought about painting it red but it's a really pretty wood that works with my interior staircase wood and floor so kept it wood....If the red would work with your interior you should go for it is always fun!
tom81 Hi I really love this door, you have great taste! I live in the UK and am having a door made very much like this. Can you tell me where the ironmongery you used is from - is this also from Lowes? I am having trouble finding something like those in your fab photo. Thank you in advance Tom
Rachel Greathouse Tom-Thank you very much:) I did purchase the hardware from Lowes but also use this site for interesting door hardware as I think they have some great stuff:)
Rachel Greathouse I bought them like that:) In spring most home Improvement stores carry them for a few weeks....I trim them to keep the shape but very low maintenance in general.
Terry Royce Rachel - I love the deep red color, I am wondering if the Rustoleum made the Sherwin Williams brighter, or gave it the more deep red color.
gr8bozo Rachel... beautiful front door! what do you have on the inside of the sidelights? looks like beading and cord. Did you make it or purchase it? really looks great!
Rachel Greathouse Thank you:) The door was part of the house I just painted and added the hardware and #'s:) And yes you are correct about the woodwork:)) Thank you very much! Rachel
Pop of red for the front door and come cool black numbers. I also love the white around the door, the plants on both sides, the black lights and the stone.

Mix Real Red by Sherwin Williams #6868 and added some Rustoleum exterior paint pre made...."Sunrise Red" is a good one to try...just mix together until you get the color you want
