Storage abounds in this walnut and white gloss cabinetry kitchen. The contrast between the two finishes creates drama and definition to specific functional areas. The island features sliding doors that have a copper basketweave pattern encased in resin to add texture and interest. The bar height eating area is perfect for late night treats or a quick breakfast.

Is the glass eat in area bar height, and is the wood pedestal connected to the island? »
Eminent Interior Design Hello Jessica,
Yes, I the pedestal was integrated with the cabinetry and was custom built by a local cabinet shop. The backsplash material is an embossed tile that appears to be mini-mosaics. It creates a beautiful texture and contrast against the walnut cabinetry.
Thank you for your questions!
Eminent Interior Design Hello. This Kitchen was part of a new construction project that was considered a "Dream Home" on the Fall Parade of Homes 2011 in the Twin Cities Metro. I cannot pin point the cost for this Kitchen, but cabinetry was completely custom walnut and enameled and we utilized high end appliances and plumbing. Thank you for your question.

Eminent Interior Design Hello. It is called Alaska White. It has other names as well, but when we specified and selected these slabs, it was Alaska White. Thank you for your question.
Eminent Interior Design Hello. The paint color is from Benjamin Moore and is called Fairway Oaks. We chose a matte finish for this kitchen. Thank you for your question!

Eminent Interior Design Hello. This custom glass bar top is polished on one side and the underside has tiny raised dots to create a "frosted" look. We wanted the thickness of the glass to be appropriate for a high usage area such as this eat-in bar.

Species and Stains - What material and color stain did you use on the dark cabinets?
Also, what material and stain did you use on the hard wood floors? »
Eminent Interior Design Hello! The species of wood for the cabinetry is walnut with a dark stain. The floor is Black Walnut with a clear finish. Thank you for your question!
Eminent Interior Design Hello! I am impressed that you could see that it was tile in this photo! It is a lovely tile that looks like small pieces of mosaic put together. The overall size of each tile is 13" x 40" and the info I have is Cubica Marfil #V13899811. Thank you for your question!
Eminent Interior Design Hello,
The barstools above are from a manufacturer called Vanguard. They are adjustable in height and are quite comfortable. Thank you for your question!
Because the floors were walnut, Hagen worked in some high-gloss white cabinets for contrast in the kitchen; she played around with many different compositions of walnut and white. "While I love many types of countertops, this island needed lots of movement, and so it needed to be granite," says Hagen. Sliding copper doors on the island, frosted glass on the octagonal table and a glass mosaic backsplash round out the material palette. Counters: white Alaskan granite
