Most cabinet depths (from front to back) are approx. 24" deep. So the left side where the sink is probably has cabinets, and then the right side could have 24" deep cabinets as well, back to back.
Judging from the brick backsplash in the background - each brick is about 8" wide. If you count about 7 bricks wide is the width of the counter.
So this island is about 4'-0" to 4'-6" wide.

Thanks, I was hoping it wasn't that wide, I am only having 32" width.

You could have an island that only is the width of the sink side - you just wouldn't be able to have the two seated area at the end. So you could have a 30" wide counter, but for an island, you usually want more work/countertop surface, 36" min. is ideal.

I just looked at plans, it is 35" wide. I am keeping 40" and 42" of walking space on both sides.

So you may be ok, yes? I would suggest you visit a kitchen showroom or even your local home improvement store to see what 35" wide island would feel like.
Your 40"-42" wide walking space should be good. Don't go any less than 36" walking space. Good luck to you!
